Eero Pro 6E: what owners actually say

What owners complain about
- No network monitoring or SNMP SOME
There is no SNMP support and no decent network monitoring through the app or API. One owner who put significant effort into this ultimately had to route the Eero through other tools just to get basic visibility into traffic.

Surprising patterns
- The traffic shaping feature is off by default, hidden under 'eero Labs' as a beta feature called 'optimize for conferencing and gaming,' and uses fq_codel rather than CAKE on Wi-Fi 6 models — CAKE was only on 1st and 2nd generation units.
- An ISP owner who has collected stats from thousands of devices reports an exceptionally high failure or 'buggy' rate with mesh nodes compared to traditional routers, which they attribute partly to a lack of surge suppression in cheaper designs.
- Client steering bundles band switching and station switching together into one toggle, which caused issues for at least one owner with Apple HomePods — there is no granular control to separate these behaviors.
